The Silver Eye is a tiny little bird that eats the aphids off roses and is therefore a favourite remedy for our rose bushes.
This beautiful little bird is so vibrant in colour when you look at it closely. Of course the main thing is the astoundingly beautiful eyes they have - giving them their name.
The Silver Eye in my work is sitting on our New Zealand native Pohutukawa tree. I certainly feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful country, with so much inspiration all around me to draw from in each of my works.

THE FINISH
The painting has been created on a wood round and finished with satin varnish, protecting the longevity and enhancing the vibrancy of the colours.
